Raw Materials

Sustainable Construction

Sustainable construction is no longer an option, rather it is a responsibility that all building owners must accept. All of our products are characterized by their high quality and longevity. With its strength and resistance characteristics, bio-polyurethane is well-established as a high-tech material for a wide variety of products in buildings construction and interiors. We go even further by replacing synthetic raw materials with natural materials.

Plant-Based Oils

Our acoustic systems and bio-based polyurethane floorings are manufactured from sustainable raw materials without compromising technical performance. We use plant-based oils such as canola oil or castor oil as alternatives to petrochemicals.

We are creating solutions with safe physiological and toxicological attributes and setting the standard for emissions characteristics

Chalk & Sand Fillers

We use chalk and sand as other filler materials in our acoustic systems and polyurethane floorings.

Chalk is ideal as a filler.  It is completely safe, and the only preparation work required is grinding.

Sustainable Forestry

We only use sustainable HDF core boards sourced from careful and responsible forest management, which have the PEFC™ seal of approval in our laminate and multi-layer flooring.

Wood products that have the PEFC™ seal of approval can be traced back to ecologically, economically and socially sustainable forestry.

Our Work

Continuously improving the sustainability of our products is very important to us. Therefore, we only use PEFC™ certified HDF core boards and decorative papers for our flooring solutions. Sustainability is also achieved with break-through innovation and launching new product categories that are based on ‘better’ raw materials. This is our goal with ecuran, a polyurethane composite material which is largely based on renewable and natural raw materials such as plant-based oils and chalk. We do not use questionable ingredients, solvents, formaldehyde, phthalates and other chemicals that are harmful to living creatures or the environment. Our polyurethane flooring has been awarded the “Blauer Engel” and the Cradle-to-Cradle certificates by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (Building and Environmental Association).
